Preview of District Priorities for 2017-18, Opening of New Schools
WHAT: Superintendent Laura Mitchell will present a Back-to-School Kickoff previewing the new academic year for Cincinnati Public Schools’ administrators. Supt. Mitchell will discuss the expansion of Vision 2020, an initiative, now in its second year, to strengthen neighborhood schools. Three new schools will be introduced, and Supt. Mitchell will outline priorities to better prepare students for college and the workplace.

Cincinnati Public Schools sets the tone for the 2017-18 school year with the district’s Back-to- School Kickoff event from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017. The event will feature priorities for the coming school year – including the expansion of initiatives to prepare students for success in postsecondary education and the workplace, as well as improve the district’s neighborhood schools. Students return to classes in Southwest Ohio’s largest public school system on August 16, 2017.
