CPS Students Grades 2–12 Receiving Computers

August pickup dates for select elementary schools have changed. Be sure to check the list below for your school's pickup date.

Note: Health and safety guidelines from CPS and the Ohio Department of Health will be followed at distribution sites. Face masks must be worn, and social-distancing guidelines must be followed — standing or sitting a minimum of six-feet apart.

Cincinnati Public Schools is offering computers to all CPS students in grades 2–12 to do school work in classrooms and at home, in support of the recent Board-adopted Blended Learning model for the 2020–21 school year.

• Students in grades 2–3 will receive iPads. Students in grades 4–12 will receive laptops. The devices are on loan and must be returned at the end of the school year.
• Students in grades 4–12 who were issued iPads this summer must bring those iPads with them when they pick up new devices.
• Students in grades 4–11 who were issued laptops previously by CPS may keep those devices for the 2020–21 school year.
• CPS has enough computers available for all students in grades 2–12. All students in grades 2–12 are encouraged to pick up CPS-provided devices. (Students will not be permitted to bring personal computers to school.)

CPS-provided devices have MicroSoft Office installed, which students will need to do school work, and child-protection firewalls.

Device Distribution — July 6 through August 31, 2020

Starting July 6, students will pick up devices at the front lobby entrances of their schools on specific distribution days between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

When you arrive, pull into the school's front driveway, and a CPS technician will give instructions. Parents may pick up devices without the student present. (Please note they do need to pick them up at the school where the student is attending school in the fall.) 

Families can arrange for a family member or friend to pick up the device. They would just need the student's name and date of birth. However, make-up days to pick up devices will be scheduled and announced, as well as via robocalls to the families who missed their assigned days.

Health and safety guidelines from the federal Centers for Disease Control will be followed during distribution, including six-foot distancing and wearing masks to help prevent the spread of germs
