Ryan Gourley

Ryan Gourley began his career serving the State of Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities before pursuing his passion for education. He earned his degree in Special Education through the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University, launching a teaching career with Cincinnati Public Schools where he served for nine years. Dedicated to leadership and student success, Ryan went on to complete his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Grand Canyon University, which led him to become the Assistant Principal of Culture at Hughes STEM High School.
In addition to his work at Hughes, Ryan also served as Assistant Principal over CPS’s Satellite Programs, overseeing education at the Hamilton County Youth Center, Hamilton County Justice Center, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital campuses. In 2025, he became Principal of John J. Gilligan Digital Academy, where he leads innovative online learning opportunities for students across the district.
Beyond his professional role, Ryan has dedicated much of his life to mentoring and raising children, despite not having biological children of his own. He continues to serve as a mentor and father figure to many young people, extending his impact both inside and outside the classroom.
