Classroom Supplies

Students at GDA will receive all necessary classroom supplies (e.g., workbooks, headphones, math manipulatives, etc.) during Open House for returning students and at orientation for new students. If students or families are unable to attend Open House, they will need to schedule a time to come to GDA to pick up these materials. Additionally, if a student’s computer is not functioning properly, families should contact GDA staff to schedule an appointment for a replacement device.

Attendance

1. Daily Work/Attendance/Course Engagement: At GDA, every student is required to complete at least 45 minutes of active engagement in each course per day to be counted as present. If a student does not meet the 45-minute requirement in a course, they will be marked absent for that day in that class.

Within the Edgenuity platform, student progress is color-coded:

  • Green or Blue = On track or ahead of schedule → counted as present
  • Red = Behind schedule → counted as absent

This system ensures that attendance is based on both time and progress, helping students stay accountable and on track toward graduation. If students are actively participating, but still behind because they are struggling with the content, please reach out to your teachers or intervention specialist for assistance.

2. Students enrolled in K-6 ELA and Math, Algebra 1, Art X, W.I.N. Advisory MUST attend the live google meet class to get credit for attendance.

3. Students are expected to work in each class, each school day and complete all assignments posted on their Calendar/Course Map/Daily Schedule.

  • Elementary Teachers will monitor class attendance and participation. Class is held daily on live Google Meets for ELA and Math, as well as through daily assignments on iready and Canvas. Science and Social studies is on the “Buzz” (Imagine Learning) platform
